Rental of large holiday homes in Kegnæs

Here at VillaVilla, we rent out many different types of holiday houses, so you have the opportunity to find the perfect match for your next holiday with all the family. At Kegnæs, holiday homes for larger families are in focus. Here we rent out houses for 18 and 28 people. The summer houses we rent out in Kegnæs are specifically designed to help you enjoy a wonderful holiday together, centred around quality together time. When you arrive, you will be greeted by what we call our service consultant. Your service consultant is the person who provides you with the keys, shows you around the holiday home and demonstrates how all the different facilities in the holiday house work. If you have questions during your stay, it is also the service consultant that you should contact. Our service consultants also have knowledge of the local area, so should you have any questions about the actual area where you will be spending your holiday, they will be more than happy to help you out with that.

It is important to us that your holiday is all about you. That is why we also offer the option to order a cleaning service for all of our houses, while Holiday Home No. 477 also offers you the unique opportunity to order a so-called starter pack. The starter pack is a concept which is designed to make your holiday even more convenient and seamless. It contains all of the most basic things you may need during your stay, such as soap, toilet paper and rubbish bags.

As mentioned, it is very important to us that you have a pleasant and memorable time when you rent a holiday home in Kegnæs with us. Our summer houses are designed to be comfortable even when many people are all gathered together under one roof. The holiday homes we offer with room for up to 18 people have two different bedroom quarters plus a loft which sleeps four. Meanwhile our houses for 28 people have four bedroom quarters and two lofts, which sleep two each. This layout of the bedrooms is something which makes it easier to meet the different needs for peace and quiet or for activity and socialising that the different members of your group might have. If someone is a light sleeper or needs to be able to get up early without having to creep around, you can divide the bedrooms with that in mind. If one of the family units in your group has very young children, then they can take a whole quarter to themselves, or alternatively, if there are teenagers, then they can take over their own part of the house. The lofts are especially well suited to children who will love having their very own den away from the adults – this possibility is usually a huge hit.

Lots of fun in the summer house in Kegnæs

Another thing that is usually a big hit is the activity room, which you will find in your holiday home no matter which one you choose. The activity room is a place where all the family can gather to enjoy a wealth of different games and activities. We promise you that the hours will simply fly by in here. You can compete simply for fun, in order to determine who will come away with the title of ultimate family champion or even to decide who is going to take care of the chores in the kitchen for that evening. The games that you will find in the activity room are table tennis, billiards, table football and darts. Depending on the age of the children in your group, they may be able to take part, so you can set up a true family championship. If all that activity and excitement leaves you feeling tired, you can take a break on the home’s games console. There is a console in every house. For example it might be a PlayStation 4. The only thing that is very important is that you bring your own games. You will not find games provided in at the summer house.

The activity room is not the only place where you can find entertainment in the homes we rent out in Kegnæs. All of the holiday homes also have a pool, whirlpool and sauna. So what do you say? The holiday homes for up to 18 people each have an 18 m2 swimming pool, while the pools in our homes for up to 28 people are slightly bigger at 22 m2. You can look forward to a water slide, counter-current system and a view of all the fun and goings-on taking pace in the pool. Relax in the whirlpool while the swimming enthusiasts splash around in the pool next to you, or if you prefer relaxing in the fresh air, then you may be interested in the outdoor sauna on offer at Holiday Home No. 528. At a distance of just 900 metres from the beach, this is a great place to quickly thaw after a cold dip in the winter months. Meanwhile the sauna is perfect for a moment of relaxation in the evening or a well-deserved breather over the course of the day, whether it be outdoors at Home No. 528 or inside at any of our other homes in Kegnæs.

Holiday home break in Kegnæs

Kegnæs Peninsula

Kegnæs is a small 17 km2 peninsula located on the southern coast of the island of Als in Southern Jutland. Kegnæs is located next to Flensburg Fjord and makes for a great place to visit, especially in the summer months. Holiday idyll is the best way to describe the atmosphere you will find around Kegnæs. The peninsula is home to a couple of small villages – Sønderby, Østerby and Vesterby – which are located among the many fields that mostly make up the peninsula. The villages have small winding streets, which snake between the small houses and lead you out to the coast of the peninsula, where you can find a beautiful view of the fjord. There are several nice places to visit on the peninsula, but there is one in particular which is formidable. Kegnæs Lighthouse is open all summer, and from here you can see all the way to Germany and get a fantastic impression of the peninsula from above.

Life in Kegnæs is tranquil and very quiet. The area is sparsely populated, which makes it perfect for a relaxing and fairly private family holiday (throughout most of the year). Of course in the summer the area is busier, with lots of happy holidaymakers exploring the environs, but even then it is still possible to find some breathing space on this very scenic and beautiful peninsula. There are several areas with forest where you can enjoy a pleasant walk or seek out some refuge from the sun. The southwest side of Kegnæs is home to several areas with meadows, and you will find rich birdlife here especially in the spring. If you are heading here over the Easter break or for a weekend visit in the springtime, then make sure you remember to pack your binoculars so you can really enjoy the rich bird life at this time of year.

Water sports and other activities in Kegnæs

If you are going on a summer holiday to Kegnæs, you won’t miss the fact that many people come here to pursue one kind of sport or another. As you drive down to Als and across the isthmus to Kegnæs, if the weather is good you will see lots of multi-coloured kites in the sky, either pulling surfers along the waves or kids on the beach. This kind of sight is not at all uncommon as the south coast of the peninsula in particular has ideal conditions for surfing. But … what if you’ve never tried that kind of thing before? Don’t let that put you off! Kegnæs is a great place to surf no matter whether you’re a seasoned pro or a complete beginner. There is even a surf school on the peninsula if you would like an expert instructor to show you the ropes. You can windsurf and speed surf since the water is shallow.

But this is not the only activity on offer here. Fishing enthusiasts will be happy as there are lots of good spots for angling along the coast of the peninsula and its small watercourses, as well as on the other islands which are located nearby. There is an area in particular, called Drejet, which has especially good conditions for angling.

If you are not that keen on either fishing or water sports, then you can be interested to know that Kegnæs is also a good spot for sailing, and you won’t need your own boat to partake – there are boats to rent in the area. Or if you prefer getting around on dry land than on water, you will find many pleasant cycling and hiking trails around the peninsula.
