What is your role at VillaVilla?

I am the head of our booking department, assisting guests via phone, email, and our chat service. I’m originally from Viborg and, after spending 25 years abroad, I returned to my hometown. Since May 2021, I have been part of the VillaVilla team.

After graduating from Viborg Cathedral School in 1995, I moved abroad. Since then, I have gained experience in the Swiss hotel industry and, for many years, worked within HR and recruitment.

The VillaVilla team has made it easy for me to find my footing in Danish work culture. The atmosphere at the office is great, there’s always room for some fun, even on days when the phone rings non-stop. Selling holidays to excited and happy guests also makes working at VillaVilla perfect for me.

What do you do in your free time?

In my free time, you’ll often find me in the forest with our lovely dog or out cycling. A ride on my mountain bike is one of my favorite activities. I also really enjoy weekends at our summer house on Rømø.

As a Dane who has lived abroad, I have been a tourist in Denmark since 1995 — Fanø and Lønstrup have long been my holiday destinations. I love the North Sea when it’s really wild. A long walk in the storm with the wind and salt spray in my face is one of the best feelings I know. Of course, after the walk, the fireplace must be roaring.

Besides the west coast, the nature in North Jutland has also captured my heart. There are so many things to experience: you can see the two seas meet at Grenen, hike along the beautiful cliffs, and get lost in North Jutland’s largest forest, Rold Skov.

When it’s time to relax, Backgammon and Partners are my favorites — along with a gripping crime novel, good food, and wine while the Danish autumn storm howls outside. Getting out into nature in one way or another is definitely my thing.
