Large and lovely holiday homes by Vejby Strand

At VillaVilla, we rent out many houses by Vejby Strand. We rent out summer houses that can accommodate 14, 16, 18, 20, 22 and 24 guests. All of our holiday homes have at least two different sleeping quarters. The holiday homes have been designed so that many guests can both sleep and holiday together in a way which is comfortable for all, even when there are lots of you in your group. And how is that possible? The vast majority of our large houses with room for many guests (which is to say houses which accommodate 18 people or more) are equipped with extra large kitchens with two dishwashers, two cookers, two ovens and two refrigerators. This means that the whole family can help to prepare and clean up after the meal, but that you won’t have to spend your entire holiday slaving away in the kitchen. Things will go faster because the house has quite simply been designed for a large number of people!

Vejby Strand is a great holiday home destination with lots to offer in terms of activities, sights and outdoor environments. That in and of itself is reason enough to go on holiday here, but if you want to really pull out all the stops, then you will find that our large holiday homes can add even more fun to your holiday experience. All the holiday homes we rent out in Vejby Strand are equipped with a whirlpool, sauna and a heated indoor pool. Plus you will also find an activity room, with games such as table tennis, billiards, darts or table football. Our summer houses in Vejby Strand are ready to create the perfect setting for your upcoming holiday with family or friends, regardless of whether the weather is suitable for outdoor pursuits or not.

Holiday home breaks on the Danish Riviera

Have you heard of the Danish Riviera? This is the distinguished name given to the north coast of Zealand, specifically the stretch between Helsingør and Sejerøbugt. This area is home to many beautiful resort areas, which have long since been popular with Copenhageners as an escape from big-city bustle. Back in the day it was largely artists who went up to North Zealand, and when they returned to Copenhagen after their relaxing break, they would talk about how wonderful the North Zealand coast was for holidaying. The word soon spread and it was not long before the rest of Denmark realised just how great North Zealand was as a holiday destination.

But what makes a holiday on the coast of North Zealand special? A large part of the answer lies in the beautiful natural surroundings and different environments on offer by the many small, quaint towns along the coast. Here you will find everything from the growing town of Gilleleje, whose old fishing village and still active harbour form the centre of the town. It is a town that smells of beach, salt water and happy summer days. Nearby is the resort area of Liseleje, which simply oozes holiday spirit. Back in the day, Liseleje consisted of small guest houses owned by former fishing families, and by the mid 20th century, it was well known as a dedicated resort town.

Vejby Strand is located about halfway between the two areas of Gilleleje and Liseleje. This means you can combine a cosy and relaxed holiday home stay with a visit to this small and quaint coastal village in the east. Our houses are well positioned for you to combine a day trip to the charming fishing environment of Gilleleje one day, with a visit to the sandy beach at Liseleje and its great bathing waters the next. Vejby Strand also excels on its own as a beautiful resort area, with plenty to see and experience within its own confines. You can read more about this below.

What makes a holiday home break in Vejby Strand something special?

One of the reasons why staying in a holiday home in Vejby Strand is such a great experience is the wealth of options for you to enjoy. We have already told you a little bit about the special experience you can expect when you stay in a summer house that you rent through VillaVilla. If the pool and indoor activity room are not enough to keep you occupied, you can enjoy some of the many outdoor activities on offer in the Vejby Strand area.

The nature that surrounds Vejby Strand is very special, and we will talk about that in more detail below. The versatile natural environment of the area is perfect for many different sports and hobbies. If you are a keen angler, the escarpments down to the sea provide a good environment for catching flatfish and eelpout. Or if you prefer fishing in a lake rather than the sea, you can take a trip to Gribskov Forest (one of the largest in Denmark) which is located to the south east of Vejby Strand. Gribskov is home to Lake Esrum. The lake is surrounded by untouched woodland and gorgeous meadows. Not only can you go fishing here, you can also swim, sail and enjoy watching the bird sanctuary, which is located in the area.

Or, if you prefer pumping adrenaline to tranquil nature, the Vejby Strand area is a fantastic place for paragliding. There are also good conditions for kite flying and model flying. If you prefer to keep your feet firmly on solid ground, there are many marked hiking and walking trails in the nature areas surrounding the holiday homes in Vejby Strand.

Or if what you want most is to have fun in the waves in the big blue sea, then Vejby Strand is simply fantastic. The waves which crash against the North Zealand coast are great for surfing and other sports. And not just ordinary surfing, but kite surfing and wind surfing too. If the rest of the group feels like keeping the surfers company, the long beach makes for a great place to get cosy and watch. The sand is fine, the water is clear and you will find beach houses in different colours at several spots along the beach for that quaint and cosy holiday vibe. Relax with a good book in the summer sunshine, or enjoy a long and bracing walk on the beach in the winter. The beach is also a nice place to watch the sunset.

If you’re looking for a relaxed yet active holiday, you will find ample opportunity to enjoy long walks and quiet swims in the fresh air. Meanwhile, culture vultures will find that North Zealand is packed with local artists and exhibitions to enjoy. The Rudolph Tegner Museum and Statue Park is home to many interesting exhibitions on the Danish sculptor, and if you feel like exploring North Zealand by car, you can visit both the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art in Humlebæk or the Karen Blixen Museum in Rungstedlund. Take the opportunity to swing by the summer residence of the Danish Queen, Fredensborg Palace, on your way home. North Zealand is home to many interesting cultural sights and no shortage of Danish culture.

Vejby Strand is located in a very beautiful and scenic part of North Zealand

Vejby Strand is located in the middle of the North Zealand coast. The holiday home area is located on hilly terrain, with high slopes, lots of greenery and moors, plus it is right by the coast, where fine sandy beaches meet the majestic blue of the sea. Vejby Strand is located 49 meters above sea level, and although that might not sound like much, it makes the area the highest point on the Zealand coast. This means it has a great view of the gorgeous scenery and of Hesselø Bay, which gives way to the Kattegat in the north.

Holidays in Vejby Strand are also special because the area is located right in the heart of Heatherhill. Heatherhill is a large and protected area. The area is somewhat reminiscent of the Scottish Highlands, with its hills and valleys covered with heather and heath landscapes. Sheep roam freely in the area, and there are lots of different walking trails to be explored. Lacing up your hiking boots and exploring Heatherhill may sound like the perfect pursuit for families without small kids in tow. But if you’re worried about how the smallest ones in your group might find such an excursion, rest assured they will not go bored. Because Heatherhill is a protected area, the vegetation is left to grow free, and this means that many different species grow wild and close together. The resulting habitat is particularly well-suited for butterfly species. This means that Heatherhill has become one of only few habitats for a wide variety of butterflies, and this is sure to bring great smiles and much excitement to visitors both big and small as you explore the area. If you’re lucky perhaps some of the butterflies may even follow you all the way back to your holiday home!

Since the company was founded in 2003, we have specialised in renting out large holiday homes in Denmark, Sweden and Germany. We take great pride in making sure that you and your family, friends and other guests all enjoy your holiday together. When you rent a summer house through VillaVilla, we will always do our utmost to provide you with great service. This applies both when you contact us for guidance and advice on which holiday home to rent as well as when you are actually on your stay in one of the holiday homes that we provide. If you have any specific requests relating to the house that you would like to rent, we will be more than happy to provide assistance. Many of the holiday homes we rent out have been with us ever since they were first built, and so we have ample knowledge of the areas where they are located. Each holiday home has its own service consultant. It is the job of the service consultant to meet you on arrival and give you a tour of the holiday home. The service consultant for your summer house can answer any questions in the event there is anything you are unsure about. For example things like how to heat the whirlpool or where you might find certain equipment in the house. The service consultant is also the person to contact should you have any questions about the summer house during your stay. Not only will the service consultant be able to answer questions about the holiday house, but they will also have ample knowledge about the local area. They can therefore give you advice and tips about how to spend your time and what exciting activities are on offer nearby.
