Lovely holiday homes by Saksild Strand
Large, family-friendly holiday homes – that’s our speciality here at VillaVilla. Our holiday houses in Saksild are certainly family friendly, although calling them large might by a bit of an overstatement. The properties we have in Saksild can accommodate between eight and 14 guests, which makes them among the smallest holiday homes that we offer for rent in terms of number of guests. On the other hand, they are also among the cosiest in our collection. That classic holiday atmosphere has been amped up to the max in these holiday homes, which offer proximity to the beach, cosy moments by the wood-burning stove, a whirlpool and lots of fun and games in the activity room.
Even if our holiday homes in Saksild cannot accommodate quite as many guests as some of the other holiday houses we rent out, they are still designed to be family friendly. Bedrooms in all of the holiday homes are divided into different sleeping quarters. That goes even for the smallest of our houses in the area, which can accommodate up to eight people. The bedrooms are split across two distinct sections of the house, which are located at opposite ends of the summer house. This gives you the opportunity to distribute bedrooms in a way which takes account of everybody’s individual needs for peace and silence. It means you can keep chirpy early birds away from teenagers, who stay up half the night and then like to sleep on until midday.
It is permitted to bring up to two pets with you to most of the summer houses that we rent out in Saksild. The only exception is Holiday Home No. 385 for eight people, where it is unfortunately not permitted to bring along pets. If you need to bring more than two four-legged friends to any of the other holiday homes which do allow pets, feel free to contact us, and we will pass your request along to the owner of the holiday home to try and find a solution that allows every last member of the family to come along. Please be aware that it is not permitted to bring dogs to the beach at Saksild, as it has been awarded Blue Flag status.
Relaxation and entertainment in all the holiday homes in Saksild
Fun in the water is guaranteed all year round in these holiday homes. First of all, they are located just a few hundred metres from Saksild Strand. Besides that, the largest bathroom in these holiday homes also has both a whirlpool and a sauna. So you can enjoy a moment (or several) of full relaxation and peace, perhaps while reading a good book or enjoying a glass of something nice. The little ones can even splash about in the whirlpool if they feel like it. Both the whirlpool and the sauna are simple to use and great for unwinding whenever you feel that a moment of wellness is required.
Then, when you’ve had your fill of raisin fingers and rosy cheeks, you can swap tranquillity for action over in the holiday home’s activity room. All of the holiday homes have both billiards and table tennis as well as a games console. Just remember to bring your own games since unfortunately none are provided at the summer house. You can check exactly which games console is available in each holiday home under the individual description for the house in question. For example, it could be a Nintendo Wii or a PlayStation 3. If you don’t have games for the console in the house, you might be able to borrow some from friends, family or colleagues. The activity room in some of the houses also has darts and table football.
Saksild is the perfect setting for a holiday home vacation
Saksild is a varied area which has plenty to offer no matter whether you want to spend your time relaxing or with more active pursuits. Saksild Strand is often said to be the best beach in East Jutland. Here you will find ample opportunity to enjoy the water and relax, plus the beach is also a favourite among anglers and windsurfers. When you head down to the beach, you will be able to enjoy a beautiful view of the Kattegat, and you can also see out to the islands of Samsø and Tunø.
The beach has been awarded Blue Flag status, which means that there are life guards on duty in high season. This makes it a great choice for less confident swimmers, who want to enjoy the water in controlled conditions. The Blue Flag also means that it is unfortunately not permitted to have dogs on the beach within 200 metres of either side of the flag. There is also good wheelchair access at Saksild Strand.
All of the holidays we rent out in Saksild are located very close to Saksild Strand. You won’t have to walk more than 200 metres before you can feel sand between your toes. So you’ll have no trouble running back for some sun cream if you happen to forget it on a hot summer’s day. Or if you’re visiting in the winter and decide to brave a freezing cold dip, you won’t have far to go until you are warming up in the sauna back home.
The charming little town has good options for buying groceries, and various different events and festivals are held in the town and harbour area all through the summer period. If you feel like venturing a little farther afield you can visit the market town of Odder, which is just six kilometres away from Saksild. Here you will find cultural attractions, places to go shopping and market days in the town square.
Odder is also home to an 18-hole golf course. Vejlskoven is a forest to the south of Odder, where you will find a number of marked walking trails to explore. So bring a packed lunch and enjoy a beautiful walk through the nature of East Jutland.
A bike ride in the scenic areas around Saksild is also a great activity to enjoy, although we recommend a bike with gears, as there are many hills to contend with in the area.
Sights and attractions near Saksild
If cultural experiences are more your cup of tea, the area around Saksild is home to many churches, country homes, burial mounds, memorials and several relics from the Viking Age. A visit to the Mosegaard Manor House or the Mosegaard Museum are both interesting options for the whole family to enjoy. The museum is dedicated to archaeology and ethnography – so you should find something there for all the family. Dive into the past and learn how humankind and our lives have taken shape through the ages to become what we recognise today.
Aarhus and all the amenities you would expect from a big city are just 30 minutes away. Here you can visit the largest art museum in the Nordic region, which is called ARoS, and well known for the alluring rainbow decorating its rooftop. Tivoli Friheden is also worth a visit if you go to Aarhus. This amusement park runs different themes depending on the season, and it also hosts concerts and talks. You can also explore Aarhus by taking a walk along the stream and through its charming streets – a lovely experience in and of itself! Drink a coffee at a local café, enjoy some nice views of the city from Salling Rooftop or take a longer walk through the Deer Park. A trip to Aarhus can make for a nice contrast to the more relaxed and tranquil ambience that you can enjoy in the holiday home.
