Sights and attractions in East Jutland

A holiday in East Jutland means the best of both worlds. Beautiful nature and exciting urban life. Visit the Mols Bjerge National Park and experience a unique ice-age landscape, which includes forests, heathland, lakes, coast and sea. It is definitely possible to explore Mols Bjerge on your own, or if you prefer, you can also go on a guided tour and pick up lots of information about the plants and wildlife in the area.

If you’re something of a culture vulture, you can take a trip to the second biggest city in Denmark, Aarhus. Among other things, Aarhus is home to one of the largest art museums in Northern Europe – the ARoS Art Museum. Another option is to visit the Old Town Museum (Den Gamle By) which is a folk museum that will take you back to the good old days.

Ebeltoft is one of East Jutland’s real gems. In the summer this town simply exudes that classic holiday feeling, although it is also well worth a visit even out of high season. Among other things, Ebeltoft is known for its charming cobblestone streets and half-timbered houses. Visit the Ebeltoft Glass Museum (Glasmuseet) and experience glass art at its finest – the exhibitions are continuously changing so you can come back many times and always see something different.

If you simply feel like relaxing on the beach, Saksild is said to have the best beach for swimming and bathing in East Jutland. The East Jutland coastline generally consists of beautiful and child-friendly beaches.

The area is also home to a number of theme parks that are suitable for all the family. For example, visit Djurs Summerland and experience that whooshing sensation in your tummy as you ride its roller coaster. Or head to Tivoli Friheden and ride yourself dizzy on the carousel.
