The Olpenitz resort area is under development and will become the largest holiday and sailing resort in Northern Europe, with many activities, eateries and a marina (the area is still under development at present).

Activities and sights near Olpenitz
Located just 10 km from Olpenitz is the charming German town of Kappeln. Here you will find many different sights, including the mill Amanda, the museum harbour, the marina, the town hall and St. Nicolai Church.
Kappeln also has good options for shopping, or you can enjoy a sumptuous meal in one of the town’s many restaurants. From the port you can sail to Schleswig and Schleimünde. Every Thursday there is a market held at Deekelsen-Platz, and on the last Sunday of every month, there is a fish market down by the harbour.
Olpenitz is located right at the entrance to the Schlei, which today is well known as a popular area for sailing and yachting. Schlei is about 42 km long and ends at the city of Schleswig. The area around Schlei is recognised as a nature park and known for being a very diverse natural landscape made up of small streams, cultivated areas, smaller forest areas, beautiful beaches, small and cosy bays, steep escarpments by the coast and so on.
