The thatched houses pair well with the nature in this area, where both dunes and fjord meadows sit side by side with dune plantations.
The area has a great tradition for farm shops, craft stores, candle factories and ceramics workshops, but if you are after a more extensive shopping experience than that then the town of Ringkøbing is worth visiting. With its red tile roofs and beautiful church in the middle of its lively square, this town is not only pretty but also boasts a large selection of shops. Along its cobblestone streets and pedestrian areas you will find a wide range of nice speciality shops and cafés to visit.
Just over 25 km to the north is Holstebro, which with its many shops and a large walking street spanning several streets, offers shopping that is sure to satisfy even the most demanding visitors.
H. C. Andersen visited Nr. Vosborg in 1859 – his stay at the beautiful manor home from the year 1530 served as inspiration for the writer’s novel A Story from the Sand Dunes and some of his well-known paper cuttings.
15 km from Ulfborg is where you will find Fishing & Family Park West – there is more than enough here for an entire day, including a nice zoo, a new water park and the chance to go fishing in scenic surroundings.
