Attractions and sights on Møn
The island of Møn boasts 140 km of coastline, which means plenty of beautiful beaches to choose from. One of the activities you can pursue on these beaches is fossil hunting. Møn is also known for its beautiful woodland and the many rare plants and animal species which live in its forests. It offers countless opportunities both to enjoy some relaxing as well as very active holidays. For example, you can set off on a bike ride and explore some of the panoramic routes, which take you along gorgeous paths and trails.
The island is probably best known for Denmark’s biggest nature attraction – the white chalk cliffs of Møns Klint, which rise up from the turquoise green waters and stretch up over 100 metres in height. The cliff extends for seven kilometres from north to south, so be sure to bring a good pair of walking shoes with you.
The GeoCenter Møns Klint is definitely worth a visit. From here you can participate in some exciting expeditions in the area around Møns Klint, and at the centre’s 3D cinema, you can experience the birth of Denmark.
Stege is the largest town on the island and one of Denmark’s old market towns. Here you can discover vestiges of the middle ages as well as many modern shopping and dining options plus events and activities for all ages.
