Holiday home rentals near Tårup Strand in East Funen

Tårup Strand is located 10 km to the south of Nyborg on the east coast of Funen, with views over the Great Belt and the bridge which links Funen to Zealand. The holiday home area is set in green and natural surroundings, which are close to the Blue Flag beach. The beach is very child friendly, with its shallow and calm waters, plus there is also a jetty if you want to swim in slightly deeper waters.

The environment around Tårup Strand is home to the rare fire-bellied toad. These are especially common around Lake Klokkesøen, and on warm days in late spring – right before the summer makes its debut in earnest – you can hear their distinctive croak as you approach the water through the forest.

The magnificent nature makes the perfect setting for long walks. There are several marked hiking trails in the area around Tårup Strand. Alternatively, you can hop on your bike and peddle towards local cycle route no. 50, which will take you past manor house after manor house and many of the castles which can be found around East Funen. Bring a packed lunch to enjoy in one of the gardens, and give your thigh muscles a well-deserved break.

The area around Tårup Strand is perfect for anglers. The river Kongshøj Å runs here and presents good opportunities for fishing. The stretch from Tårup Strand to Kajbjerg Skov is also good for fishing, both from the coast or out on the sea.

Egeskov Castle is a popular place to visit when holidaying on Funen. The castle is home to one of the most beautiful gardens in Denmark, where you can go for a stroll, play in the forest or see if you can find your way out of some of the mazes which can be found on its grounds. 

Just a short 45 minutes away is Odense, where a whole plethora of attractions are just waiting to be discovered. Visit the many exotic animals in Odense Zoo, learn about the history of Denmark’s railways through interactive exhibitions at the Danish Railway Museum (Jernebanemuseum) or stroll around the old town, where you will find the childhood home of Danish fairy tale writer H. C. Andersen.
